School Summary
Sigler Elementary saw a steep decline in STAAR scores approaching state standards, dropping from 79% in 2017-18 down to 69% in ‘18-19. Accordingly, Sigler—like neighboring Weatherford Elementary, is one of only 5 PISD schools to receive an ISD SchoolSearch rating below a ‘C’ for 2018-’19. In addition to the low STAAR scores, Sigler also has one of the higher mobility rates (number of students enrolling and withdrawing each year) amongst PISD elementary schools, with nearly 1 in 5 students (18.9%) moving in or out of the school. High mobility rates are often associated with greater disruption to classroom routines, as new students can require a great deal of help to successfully assimilate into a new classroom and get caught up with a new curriculum. Sigler feeds into Wilson Middle School, Vines High School, and Plano Senior High. For more information and insight about Sigler Elementary, you can reach out to Sigler parents through the PTA Facebook page or look through PISD’s Sigler website.

Neighborhood Summary
One of Plano’s oldest neighborhoods, with shaded park land and lots of charm. There’s a real, palpable sense of community, highlighted by the Texas Pool. Sigler’s school zone is less than a 5-minute drive to the 75, and less than 10 minutes to downtown Plano. Most homes in this school zone were built in the 1960s and tend to be very small by Plano standards. The neighborhood is adjacent to what used to be the Collin Creek Mall, the site where a large, multi-purpose development will bring new energy, commerce, and residents in the coming year or two.
