Meadows is not one of PISD’s high-performing elementary schools, as can be seen most readily by looking at the % of STAAR scores at Meadows that met (39%) and significantly exceeded (19%) state standards. Despite its struggles with performance, Meadows is making progress. Over the past 4 years, the % of STAAR scores at Meadows that met state standards were as follows—2015-’16: 26%; 2016-’17: 29%; 2017-’18: 33%; 2018-’19: 39%. Meadows has one of PISD’s highest rates of economically disadvantaged students at 87.1% and feeds into Armstrong Middle School. Meadows then move onto McMillen High and Plano East Senior High.
